Worship & Music

Worship at Twelfth Avenue CRC

Worship and music are integral parts of the life of Twelfth Ave CRC. We are a member of the Christian Reformed Church and therefore adhere to the Reformed tradition of worship. This means that our services focus on the relationship between God and His people. We know that it is only by God’s grace that we are saved and so we as Christians need to come before Him with thanksgiving and praise for this amazing gift.

Music at Twelfth Avenue CRC

Music plays an important role in worship for in the Bible God calls his people to “Praise Him with a new song.” (Psalm 96) We strive to base our worship and music not on style and personal tastes but on scripture. We also encourage our members to share the gifts the Lord has given to them. There are many different choirs and ensembles available throughout the year where individuals may get involved.

Senior Choir - open to anyone high school aged and older. This choir meets after the Sunday morning worship service and sings during the morning service twice a month.

Handbell Choir – open to anyone high school aged and older. Presently this is a seasonal ensemble that practices weekly over three to four weeks in preparation for leading a service.

Praise Team – open to anyone middle school age and older. Teams of six individuals meet weekly for two weeks and lead the song service the first Sunday evening of every month.

Seasonal Ensembles – various groups that enable participants with busy schedules a chance to share their gifts in worship without a yearlong commitment. These ensembles practice weekly over four to seven weeks in preparation for leading a service. Examples of ensembles are: Children’s Ensemble (youth from K-8th grade), Ladies Ensemble, Men’s Ensemble, Concert Band
